About FJB

Force des Jeunes de la Broye is a non-profit based in Payerne. We give the region’s young people a place to play sports for free, build their projects and grow their talents.

Vision

FJB is a non-profit association.

Founded by Pedro Emanuel Nhama and José Semedo, FJB exists to give young people in Payerne and the Broye region a supportive space to discover the joy of building their own projects, do sports for free, and develop their artistic talents — finding daily delight by joining forces.

What we do

FJB offers and will offer the following activities:

  • Sports activities led by a qualified coach (combat sports, gymnastics, cross training).
  • The creation of Cecifoot — football adapted for blind and visually impaired people, in a club to be founded.
  • Charitable activities and projects supporting good causes.
  • Organisation of the « 5km de la Broye » and the « Vontade de Vencer » project, a race paired with an awareness walk on visual disability — popular and family-oriented, with a free meal at the end.
  • Meals in the N.A.C.S (Black that Blends all Colours and Flavours) to raise local awareness of visual disability in a more playful and gastronomic way.
  • Reading and writing workshops.
  • A personal development workshop.
  • Various workshops based on young people’s ideas, inspirations and imagination.
  • Cultural camps with farmers and artisans of the region, so young people can discover the Broye and everything beautiful here.

Today, as adults, the founders themselves benefited from this kind of structure — it taught them, beyond life’s ups and downs, that unity is strength and that you can shape your own life, find joy and share it. That is the spirit they want to pass on to young people often left without direction. The hope: one day they will pass it on in turn.

FJB is politically and religiously neutral.

Mission

FJB’s primary mission is to contribute to everyone’s well-being, regardless of means or social class.

We work with every partner who wants to support and walk this path with us.

Concrete goals

For young people in Payerne

  • Help them bring their projects, whatever they are, to life.

For the visually impaired and blind in Africa

  • Provide regular financial support.
  • Provide regular material support.
  • Offer psychological support to help people through life’s difficulties.
  • Build shelters to host them.
  • Provide schooling and educational support to children, visually impaired and blind.
  • Monitor schooling, socialisation and education.
  • Broaden their knowledge of the trades, taking their needs and wishes into account.
  • Support them in growing professional or artistic projects, and help develop their skills.
  • Support them in building their future and finding their place in society.
  • Several reception centres are and will be built in different cities. They will serve as platforms to distribute equipment, clothing and food. Their versatility also makes them emergency shelters for the blind and visually impaired. On site, auxiliary support and staff will manage and follow up with users.

Every donation collected goes to

  • Young people in Payerne.
  • The visually impaired and blind in Africa.

Throughout its work, FJB will adapt to societal changes and the circumstances ahead.
